AfroTech2021 by Blavity Inc. was an incredible experience! It was bustling with activity to include panels, workshops, and learning opportunities. I had the opportunity to connect with other technology professionals, companies and attend fireside chats and workshops. The conversations from these interactions were enriching, energizing, and full of inspiration. 

The following includes a summary of a few workshops and speakers who provided extraordinary value to myself and the participants:

• "HIIP to the Future of Work" by Jeff Nelson. I learned about "High-Intensity Interval Productivity", a work-life framework. This was a timely discussion as our workforce experiences shifts and changes.
• "Agile Thinking for Beginners" which focused on increasing speed and value in the #product delivery lifecycle. Engaging in the iterative process was a key takeaway.
• The Google "Making Moves" Panel was impactful and centered on meaningful and joyful work and building "with" and not just for the communities we serve. Tracy Easter provided much inspiration and motivation!
• Webflow is at the forefront of the "No Code Movement." Fimi Fafowora provided context and insight on how this could increase productivity for the end user and also companies.
• Imposter Syndrome is a topic often discussed and 'Tine Zekis, M.Ed. created such a vulnerable space for all to engage in thoughtful dialogue and reflection on this topic. There were so many tools provided and I can not wait to "dive in."
  

In the Frank Greene Expo I was inspired by the following quote: "You have to be prepared for success because you may succeed and you're not ready." It is of utmost importance to be prepared. I am leaving this conference energized to learn more, engage further with study material and to increase my involvement in a variety of projects. Thank you Blavity Inc.for an incredible experience!
